When God speaks…

Hearing God’s voice can be difficult, when there are so many voices to contend with in this world.  It is not always the loud voice that you hear in your mind. I know that is the way it is for me.

As you are aware, hopefully, there is a spirit realm around us. Either we are hearing God speak or we are hearing satan’s voice. Resist satan’s voice and walk according to the voice of the Lord Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We have to put to death the deeds of the flesh. The voice of sin will speak to your carnal nature. You do not want to follow that voice. It will only lead to the destruction of your flesh. As a Spirit filled believer, you are obligated; you will be led to obey the instruction of God and it will not be anything that is against the word of God. Everything you hear, I would encourage to take it to the scriptures. Remember that it will always line up. If anything you hear goes contrary to what the holy scriptures say, I would definitely not listen to that voice…

From my own experience I want to say that satan is very crafty and can make his voice sound so practical and good and easy to deceive us. But is that voice glorifying God or self? We have to fight off being selfish, remembering most sins are selfish based.

Oftentimes Satan speaks directly to the flesh. He is set out to snag us in his very own scheming. Yes, He is scheming and smart. Remember that God wants us to walk the narrow road; the broad road is the way to destruction.

God speaks to the heart or the spirit. Satan loves to drown out the voice of God and if you have dealt with a mental illness like I have, where you have heard many voices it can be very difficult.  It is tough to turn down the volume at times, but it is possible. Stay in the word and allow His Spirit to speak according to the Word.

We should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit daily. God speaks by His Spirit communicating to our Spirit… for we are divinely connected.  He will lead us by His unction deep within us.  It is not that difficult to discern. God will give us that wisdom

We should daily apply the blood of Jesus to our soul in seeking God in prayer and meditating on the scriptures.  I do believe we can plead the blood…We should confess every sin that we have consciously or willfully done, asking His Spirit to reveal the truth of our soul to Him.

It is possible to hear God’s voice. You have to be very still in the presence of the Lord. Rebuke the devil’s voice by recognizing it verbally. Our battle is spiritual not physical.

Father in Heaven, help us I pray to be led by Your Holy Spirit. Speak to us, help us to obey you. We rebuke the voices of the enemy in the name of Jesus and command them to be silent in the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit I pray, Amen.

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[c] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[d] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
