This is only A Test…

Sometimes it is very difficult to have a positive outlook with what is going on around you. It would be safe to say that God does not tempt us but He does test us to see if how we are going to do with the test.

What does the word of God say about testing?

Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, 3 for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete. James 1:2-4

That’s my favorite verse these days it seems.

God does test us, and sometimes those tests are very hard. Did everyone ever have a class in school where they got a easy A? OF course we know what do. I am sure some courses we took in school were a breeze. Just like in life some tests are easy compared to our temperament, and some lessons are very hard.

I always am greatly encouraged when someone goes through something devastating but their faith is strong. They are still standing and still leaning on God, standing on the promises in the word of God.I wonder how they do that, with no matter what they are faced with, their gaze is not distracted from the creator of the universe. Im sure they have been tested many times before in their life, and passed with flying colors!

Look at what steadfast faith produces…”perseverance.”  That person was not so strong at one point but the testing of their faith PRODUCED perseverance. Face trials of many kinds?…That means you don’t turn away when the bad times hit you but you man-up and diligently face them head on.  That is what makes your faith make your faith stronger.

I will go so far as say, that our Father in Heaven does not glorify pity party’s or even complaining. These are roots of selfishness and Jesus does not honor that!!!

Happy is the man who doesn’t give in and do wrong when he is tempted, for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life that God has promised those who love him. James 1:12

A lot of times I want to be like that person that God remains their strength in the midst of life’s tests! I imagine they have a solid relationship with God in the first place, meaning talking to God and reading the word is first place in their life ya know?  They had to start somewhere.

These trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return. 1 Peter 1:7

Just when I think things are going great… it is as if the carpet is pulled out from under me and I am stripped and laid bare in this catastrophe called living life. and when are dealing with real hurt and pain i just do not do too well and at times I don’t lean on God and trust him like I should. That is a sure sign Jesus is not in the place that I thought he was.

I so want to get things right with God and there be nothing standing between Him and me.  If I get knocked down, I want to be diligent to get right back up and into the things of God.

What about you? What do you do and how do you handle things when times get tough…do you drop and fumble the ball, and stop playing the game or do you get back up with the same fervency to get to the goal?

Think about it, pray to God. Maybe you are going through a tough time right now in your life. Do you grumble and complain and have a big pity party feeling sorry for yourself. its high time you put your selfish pride down, and bow your knee before God giving HIM glory for those hard tests you have to go through. You gonna pass those tests but you have to put Jesus first!!
