Oh God, you are my God. I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in your sanctuary, and have gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; Oh how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live, lifting my hands up to you in prayer.
You satisfy me more than the richest feast.
I will praise you with songs of joy.
I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.
Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely. Psalms 63 1-8
Hey readers I did something this morning that I have not done in a very long time. I memorized over half the portion of the above scripture. This is a very moving and meaningful scripture passage that was in my prayer book this morning. I wrote it in my prayer journal, plus I am going to attempt to write it down and put it in my pocket for those times during the day to give my mind a break from the busy-ness of the day to meditate and memorize it completely. it has given my mind such a clearness this morning.
It is very good to cleanse our minds from the busy thoughts…No matter how good they are or on the flip side how bad our thoughts can be. Its good to start fresh in the morning with your coffee in hand. You can not worship and praise GOD with a million thoughts. Your mind needs a break so give it one!!Memorizing scripture should not be a gruesome thing if you are in love with the word of GOD? Psalms 119:11 is one of the first scriptures I put to memory as a young believer.
Thy word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.
It doesnt matter when or where you start or how old you are, its always good to memorize and meditate on scripture. If you want a blessing, the Holy Spirit will for sure make you a vessel that the word of God can fill full of refreshing waters!!!
